Got this as a birthday gift for my wife, and she says it's her favorite blanket she's ever owned
Based on Quality, Texture, Weight, Warmth, Size, Appearance:
Quality: This blanket will last you a lifetime. This isn't merely a blanket with a design printed on it - The image is made up of individual colored strings that are all woven together to create the image itself. And the knots & ties are strong and consistent. !BUT! Be aware that if you have cats, which we do, the individual threads are somewhat easily pull-able by cat claws. If you have cats, you will eventually have lots of loose threads (over the years.) This is not a design flaw by the manufacturer - this is an inevitability of this type of blanket. Also cats are evil.
Texture: Woven Cotton. Not as soft as fleece, but not course like wool. My wife found it to be the perfect balance. Over years of use, the fibers will become even softer.
Weight: Heavy enough for it to "hold" you in it, light enough for you to feel free to move around/get up and walk with it.
Warmth: My wife gets cold pretty easily and she finds it to be the perfect warmth. We live in Colorado, winter at the time of writing this, and she says it's warm but doesn't make her sweat. Some blankets are so warm that you either sweat or freeze (can't just let it stay on you, or else you'll sweat) and it's this back-and-forth game of on/off.
Size: You have the measurements in the description. My wife is 5'6" and she says it's a perfect throw, where she's not swimming in it, but it covers her plenty.
Appearance: Seeing the fibers and textures up close, and how these throws are made, is awesome. The image itself is obviously your opinion, but I will say that I think it's even more beautiful in person since you are able to see the layers that came together to make it.
If you don't go with this exact design, I highly recommend browsing Pure Country Weavers's other options - that's exactly how I found this one. I loved the company's ethics and quality, but needed a different design. Check out all they have to offer and I'm sure you'll find the one you love.
